If you share the same interests as i do you probably spend hours watching surfing video in amazement as these professional athletes race towards the shore on these giant waves, gliding lengthways along a rapidly moving 30ft wall of water which could be fatal to them if they fell off! You’ll probably dream of becoming a “sufer dude”.
Being up for the challenge I thought I could master the waves with ease so I considered going surfing, but then it struck me! you cannot surf in most countries in the world… and if you’re going to learn properly you’d have to go to either Australia or Hawaii, so i looked into both of the destinations and found a great deal with Australia sky The austrlia holidays specialist who went out of there own way to tailor make me a surfing inspired holiday Holidays in Melbourne.
I was so excited about going on surfing adventure so I went and bought my very own wetsuit and other surf attire so I’d look the part on my arrival! After a wait which seemed to last forever the day came for me to board my long haul flight to Australia!
I slept for the bulk of the flight so when i awoke my spirits were high and i was raring to go! I stayed at the langham hotel by the harbour and was thrilled by the legendary class the hotel held, but all i could focus on was hitting the beach tomorrow and riding the waves so i hit the sack early.
I awoke to the song of gulls and other sea birds and the vibrant sunlight which shone through my double set of windows, i swiftly got dressed and headed down to the beach to meet my teacher.
He was named thomas and had been surfing the majority of his life which gave me the greatest confidence in thinking i’d be a great surfer before the end of the day! He presented me with a huge foam board which apparently is the easiest to learn on, we started learning the paddling technique’s on the beach which I accordingly mastered in seconds although when trying to execute my learning’s in the sea they turned out to be a different kettle of fish! Eventually i found my feet and stood up after an elongated hour of frustration! Within the next week my skills went from strength to strength and I must say I am now a confident surfer; even so that i bought my own board ready or next year when I my ametaeur return. I recommend Holidays in Australia if you had the same dream as me and want to learn how to surf like a pro!.
